Book Packing, the backbone of Ghana Outlook

Ghana Outlook receives thousands of books from schools, colleges, local libraries and individuals. These are sorted into various subjects and age levels. This involves many hours of collecting and packing ready for shipment. So far we estimate that we have sent around 400,000 books to Ghana. This has enabled us to create many libraries and has given a valuable educational resource to many young people who would never have had such a facility.

Ghana Outlook has a close working relationship with the very successful charity known as "Christian African Relief Trust".

We buy space in their 40 foot containers when they are shipping out to Ghana. A container to Ghana costs about £3200 and we pay for the space we use. Our annual shipping costs are about £2000 per year.

Our relationship with CART has developed over six years and we are now proud to be their main point of contact for Ghana. Our NGO in Ghana helps CART distribute their relief items throughout Ghana.

Finding the funding to enable the shipments of our educational items to Ghana is a constant difficulty. Without the funding we could not provide the educational facilities that we have so far managed to do.

Between £500 and £700 would help us to set up a library in books. This is not a lot for the rewards that it can bring to many young people in Ghana. If you believe in the ethos of libraries and reading as a way of gaining knowledge, and you feel you could sponsor a shipment we would be grateful for your support.
