About Ghana Outlook

Ghana Outlook was formed in 2000 following previous work in Ghana in 1998 with the Leaders and members of Penistone Venture Scouts. It was in Dzolo Gbogame that they helped to build and provide a six classroom facility. This success led to the setting up of the charity by the original five leader team.

The initial objectives were to help and assist in the improvement of educational facilities. This does continue but now alongside general community development which includes health.

The projects that Ghana Outlook involves itself in are seen as partnerships between the charity and the people of Ghana.
Ghana Outlook has its own Non-Government Official, based in Ghana. This allows Ghana Outlook to research all requests for assistance and ensure that each request fulfills a number of requirements before we can consider giving it our full support. Ghana Outlook also has very good links with Ghanaian governmental departments, such as the Ghana Department of Education, the Ghana Education Service and Regional District Office. They give support to our projects in financial and practical areas

Christian African Relief Trust gives us assistance in shipping of projects items to Ghana. Our relationship has developed to one of friendship.

This year in 2005 we are continuing to help the rural areas of Ghana with the provision of our sixth school and a teachers accommodation block.

We are now looking at rural village aid sponsorship. This offers an opertunity for any person/s, organisation or community who would like to take some ownership of its development in the areas of fresh water supply, aids prevention/education and malaria prevention and treatment.

Ghana Outlook continues to expand its work and vary the projects it becomes involved in, for instance over the past three years GO has assisted the World Rescue Organisation in its desire to develop the skills and efficiency of the Ghana National Fire Service.
