Ziavi Completed

After all the hard work of planning and funding the project came to fruition. The community of Ziavi had worked hard over the past few months under the direction of Joseph Achana, the NGO for Ghana Outlook, to complete the school and make it ready for the new school year.  This is the fifth school built by Ghana Outlook and the community effort on this particular project was outstanding in commitment and dedication to make their dream come true.

“I want to say a huge thank you to all of the leader team for giving me the opportunity to be involved with something so wonderful. I will never forget the support that you all gave me when I was finding things emotionally difficult and the friendship that you shared with us throughout the fortnight. It was a truly amazing experience that has already begun to change my life. I feel more confident in myself and have made some life long friends” UK youth member.

The youth group have there photo taken with the Village Chief and the Paramount Chief following the handing over of the school. Prior to the opening ceremony there was plenty of entertainment given by the community of Ziavi and returned by the Ghana Outlook team.  The British High Commission opened the school on behalf Ghana Outlook and once opened the children of Ziavi piled in to the classrooms to sit on the new chair and tables also provided by GO

Painting the school was a major task and had to be completed ready for the Durbar day. Everyone got stuck in and worked hard in the heat of the day to make sure it was ready.

Below is a comment from one of the youth team member

“The whole two weeks, 16 days, 384 hours cannot be simply described as a completely happy and memorable time, which is inevitable. However, the majority of those hours and days spent in Ghana were some of the most fantastic times I have ever experienced; I shall never forget them and shall never want to forget. I want to thank every single team leader for everything they did; you may just think that you led some teenagers on a holiday/excursion to Ghana . But, to me you really did help to widen everyone’s mind, I know that none of us shall forget what we saw, what we did and what we felt and that is all thanks to you. UK team member
