UK Youth in action

Ghana Outlook has a successful record of three UK youth projects in Ghana and will be soon be recruiting for a forth youth project that involves

  • Commitment
  • Responsibility
  • Understanding
  • Team work
  • Respect
  • A willingness to take on Challenges
  • Representing the youth of the UK

The projects are not holidays and they do require personal effort in surroundings where life is very different from home

Once the team has been selected it is a case of getting all people together and involved on the currant project. Team Building in an important aspect of the pre project preparation and is something that if done properly will pay dividends in Ghana.

This team bonding helps the team to gel and get to know each other

Apart from the actual participation on the project before and whilst in Ghana, they are asked to deign a painting that they can transfer to the gable wall of the school in the village where they will be contributing to its development. This simple act prior to the trip to Ghana also strengthens the team by allowing the youth to work alongside each other, sharing and exploring ideas.

Once on the project site there is the serious work of completing the school. Working along side community members the UK youth contribute in the real meaning of the word. GO is responsible to the funders that all is achieved as promised.

There is always time to share our culture. GO sees the projects and activities as being very co-educational to the UK that take part in our projects. So far we have undertaken three youth visits with another planned this year consisting of a team of Fire Cadets from Cheshire

"Ghana has, as one youth member said " given me much thought and a new outlook on my own life"
