Projects
Since 2000 many varied projects have been successfully completed, including:
• Nine schools have been built, furnished and equipped. Each schhol has also been provided with a toilet block.
• Over one million books have been shipped out to equip schools and libraries with both educational and general books.
• Two toilet blocks have been built.
• seven water boreholes have been provided in rural communities.
GO also facilitates the distribution of other aid items, eg wheelchairs, medical supplies, Aqua Boxes, baby clothes and equipment, children’s toys etc.
Go works in partnership with several organisations, including Christian African Relief Trust, Rotary International, Cheshire Fire Cadets and The World Rescue Organisation.
Our major project for 2011 is a joint venture with Cheshire Fire Cadets to build our tenth school building. This school will comprise six classrooms, a library and a teachers resource room. The Rotary Club of Scarborough Cavaliers have raised funds towards a toilet block for this school, which is in line with the Ghana Outlook strategy of providing education, health and hygiene in rural areas, as always with the support of the Ghana Education Authority.
Also during 2011 we anticipate providing a further two water boreholes for rural communities in need of clean water.
