About Ghana Outlook

Ghana Outlook is a Penistone based registered charity. The charity was formed in 2000, two years after our first project in Ghana.

The Trustees were members of leader team who in 1998 led a group of Venture Scouts out to Ghana on a school building project, in a community called Dzolo-Gbogame. This was planned to be a one-off project, but for the leaders it became a life changing experience and eventually the charity was formed. Ghana, the place of this first visit, was more by fate than choice. Since then we have been fully involved with Ghana and no other country.

GO, with the help of many organisations, some local, have helped to provide numerous schools, fresh water supplies, libraries and other essential aid to the poor rural areas of Ghana.

GO has established an excellent reputation and one that we are proud of. All our projects undertaken have been completed and proved successful. All trustees meet their own costs.

GO makes every effort to ensure that any monetary donation given to us is used to maximum effect, like those in these photos.

Nearly 100 young people have been involved with GO work. They have experienced life in third world environment, discovered the rain forests and journeyed the pitiful history of the slave trade, of which Ghana was a major victim.

GO sends books, educational aids, sports equipment and health related items to Ghana on a frequent basis and as part of its fundraising efforts gives presentations to interested groups.
